Week Eleven: Good and Troubling Times Over...

In the last picture there's an example of what we're supposed to be doing as the next challenge, but unfortunately today is the last day of us with robots as we go into AutoCAD and SolidWorks boot-camp. We've had good times and troubling times with our robot, dealing with arguments on what parts to use for building, or what proper program to use for the robot's functions. Even with all that we still worked as a team! But now its time to disassemble our robot and come to an end. Onward to boot-camp.

Week Eleven: Minor Set-Back

Last week Friday our robot was working perfectly...until today no less. We've learned now to fix the wheel mechanism to pick up the ball better. After we've finished we'll be back in  action to finalize our tests before completing the challenge.

Week Ten: Finale Racquetball

Today we are testing the robot to make sure we can ace the challenge we are also programming, it as well to make it perform much more efficiently. we hope to get past this challenge so we can move on to autonomous.

Week Ten: Working Out the Kinks

Today we continued our work and are just putting the finishing touches on our bot. We're just ironing out the details right now, like the stability of it as a whole. But other than that all that's left is the programming and then we're good to go.

Week Nine: Putting Our Plan Into Action

Today we continued building our robot and brainstorming ideas on how we're gonna get the bot to actually pick up the racquetball. So far we have a pretty good idea as to what we're going to do. All that's left is to put our plan into action. We will continue with our plan on Monday.

Week Nine: Continuation of Racquetball Building

We continue to work on our robot and balancing out parts. Were deciding to use compound gearing to help lift the arm for us to pick up the ball and succeed. Some of us are also preparing for the SolidWorks model of the robot. Most of us hope to pass both challenges!

Week Eight: Robot Improvement

Today we are work to improve our robot so we go to go for the challenge. we are also trying to figure out how to get the ball in the basket.

Week Eight: Racquetball Challenge

Today we worked out some issues we were having with the programming and stability of the physical robot. We fixed a problem with the claw shaking too much upon operation. And we fixed our code so the controls of the robot wouldn't be so confusing.

Week Seven: Time To Master The Challenge

Today we are continuing working on  the robot for robot racquetball challenge and getting ready to do our first test and move on to the challenge .

Monday, April 18, 2016

Week Seven: Preparation Racquetball

Today since were gonna start preparing for the next challenge which is the racquetball challenge. We have to pick up a ball with our robot's modified claw and place it in a certain area. If we work hard we will succeed in the end. Also we must work on our Solidworks model for the challenge so were going to be busy.

Week Six: Final Tests

Today we continued to make adjustments to our claw bot and tested various programs we wrote up. we've been having problems with the claw motor so we decided to tweak the design a bit. We are looking forward to getting this done as soon as possible. We really want to begin the next challenge.

Week Six: Ready to Start and Finish

Today we are continuing the work on the claw-bot and tetrahedron so we can complete the challenge for this week.were almost ready to ace this challenge and move on to the next one.

Friday, April 8, 2016

Week Five: Continuation Building Claw

Today we continued construction on the claw-bot that we will use for the next challenge. As well as finished the SolidWorks model required up until now. Now we're ready to get serious and really push forward with this. We're striving to get this done by the deadline.

Monday, April 4, 2016

Week Five: Hard Work Continuation

Today we continue to work on our Autonomous program for our VexRobot. We also add the finishing touches to our SolidWorks model. Later we shall apply a claw to both the 3D model and the actual robot for a different challenge. We hope to have everything done before Friday!

Friday, April 1, 2016

Week Four: Finishing the Challenge

Today we are working on finishing our robot in SolidWorks and finishing programming our robot to be fully autonomous and complete the challenge to complete three full round around two chairs.

Monday, March 28, 2016

Week Four: Autonomous Testing

Our teacher Mr. Martin tells us we have to program our robot to autonomously go around a chair, meaning go on its own without us controlling it. As we program this week we prepare for testing programs to work properly for our robot. We shall challenge and conquer the chairs.

Week Three: SolidWorks

In the conclusion of this week we're making the SolidWorks model/assembly of our robot. Each of us are looking for parts online to start up the assembly. We also added a battery holder on our robot to keep our battery secure from falling under the robot. We still strive to be the best!

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Week Three: Programming

Today we're programming the movement of our robot. As we look for files we download programs to our robot we have the simple movements mean't for simple challenges. We will have completely finish our robot soon.

Friday, March 11, 2016

Week Two: Beginnings of Assembly

We continued working on getting the robot's frame set up. We've just about finished that. No we must focus our efforts on creating a model on SolidWorks.

Week Two: Pre-Build Preparations

Today we started preparing conditions for building. We opened the kit given to us by Mr. Martin and gathered the parts we needed, seperating them from those we didn't. everything we'll need now lies in our toolbox, and we should get the greenlight to build any day now...
